A 5'8" defender from Pelham, Ontario, Waselovich brings versatility to the back line, capable of playing both centre back and full-back, along with experience across elite provincial and senior environments.
Waselovich most recently competed with Niagara 1812 Football Club in the WPSL during the 2025 season. Prior to that, she developed with Hamilton United Elite OPDL, where she was part of the 2024 OPDL Cup Championship team and helped capture gold at the 2024 Ontario Summer Games. In 2023, she and Hamilton United Elite reached the OPDL Cup finals, continuing a strong trajectory of competitive success.
In addition to her soccer accomplishments, Waselovich has earned recognition as a multi-sport athlete, being named High School Athlete of the Year (2024) and selected to the Niagara High School Soccer All-Star Team (2024). She has also achieved success on the basketball court, winning OFSAA Senior Girls Gold (2025) and Silver (2024) medals.
A strong student-athlete, Waselovich has been named to the Academic Honour Roll in Grades 9, 10, and 11, and has been accepted into Dalhousie's Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology program.
"Dalhousie University has an excellent reputation, and the City of Halifax is outstanding," says Waselovich. "When I visited campus, coaches Cindy and Andrew made me feel very welcome. After training with the team on Wickwire Field, I knew Dalhousie was the right fit for me, and I wanted to be a Tiger."
Tye is excited about the addition of Waselovich to the Tigers' back line. "Leah comes to us from Hamilton United and a highly competitive youth environment," says Tye. "A versatile defender who can play anywhere across the back line, she brings a strong physical presence that will add to the core of our defence. Calm under pressure and a solid decision-maker, Leah is a reliable defensive presence in and around the box, and we are excited to welcome her to the Tigers."
Waselovich is eager to begin her U SPORTS career in Halifax. "I am very excited and proud to be a Tiger," she says. "I can't wait to get started with my new coaches and teammates."
The Tigers continue to build toward the 2026–27 AUS season as they welcome Waselovich to the Dalhousie women's soccer program.
The St. Catharines, ON product has been team captain of various squads, and holds an academic average of over 94 percent in the classroom.
