A native of Manotick, Ontario, Blinn is a product of the highly competitive Ottawa South United program and brings championship experience from multiple elite environments.
Blinn most recently competed with Ottawa South United U21 Ligue1, helping the squad capture the 2025 league championship. Her playing background also includes an Ottawa South United U16 OPDL championship (2024), a Gatorade 5v5 Team Canada international tournament championship (2024), and a bronze medal at the Ontario Summer Games (2024). Individually, Blinn earned Gatorade 5v5 Finals Player of the Game honours and was named to the FTF Top 60 in 2024.
A strong student-athlete, Blinn has earned Honour Roll recognition in Grades 10 and 11 and has been accepted into Dalhousie's Kinesiology program.
"I chose Dalhousie because of the strength of the Kinesiology program and the women's soccer program," says Blinn. "I'm excited to learn and compete under a strong female head coach and to begin the next chapter of my academic and athletic career at Dal."
Tye is excited about what Blinn brings to the Tigers. "Ava is a product of a highly competitive Ottawa South program," says Tye. "She has been part of championship teams and understands the commitment it takes to perform at a high level. A goalkeeper who commands her back line, she is also a strong distributor of the ball, which fits well with our style of play. With a solid technical foundation on the field and a strong academic profile in the classroom, we are excited to welcome Ava to our goalkeeping core."
Blinn is eager to join the Black & Gold. "Excited to start a new chapter at Dal," she says. "Go Tigers!"
The Tigers continue to build toward the 2026–27 AUS season as they welcome Blinn to the Dalhousie women's soccer program.
The St. Catharines, ON product has been team captain of various squads, and holds an academic average of over 94 percent in the classroom.
