2-1-1
HALIFAX, NS – Four different Huskies scored as Saint Mary's defeated the Mount Allison Mounties 4-1 in Atlantic University Sport women's soccer action on Friday night at Huskies Stadium in Halifax.
The Huskies got off to a strong start, generating several early chances from forward Lindy Brunelle (Keswick, ON), and midfielder Julia Pasma (Georgetown, ON), who hit the crossbar on a shot.
Pasma's next shot wouldn't be denied, as in the 18th minute, midfielder Brenna Kennedy (Fletcher's Lake, NS) played a free-kick pass right on to Pasma's foot, and she directed it past Mounties goaltender Katie Cabot (Cochrane, AB) for the Huskies first goal of the 2025 campaign.

But the Mounties responded quickly, as forward Victoria Jones (Ajax, ON) used her speed to pressure the Huskies back-line into turning the ball over, and deposited a shot past Huskies goalkeeper Katie Alley (Milton, ON) to tie the game at 1-1 in the 25th minute.
Just two minutes later, the Huskies retook the lead, as left back Áine O'Neil (New Ross, NS) played a looping pass towards forward Cara Freeman (Halifax, NS) who let the ball bounce in front of her before delivering a wicked left-footed volley into the top corner to put Saint Mary's head 2-1.

The Huskies added to their lead early in the second half, when midfielder Charlotte Baines (Halifax, NS) played a through-ball to Freeman, who attracted the Mounties defence before playing a sliding pass onto the foot of forward Virginia Boone (Halifax, NS). Boone – who returned late last season after missing nearly two full seasons with injuries – slid the ball into the open Mounties goal for her first AUS goal in 1,031 days, and the Huskies took a 3-1 lead in the 49th minute.
