Fans of the Thompson Rivers WolfPack men's basketball team will have one final chance to catch them in action inside the TCC this weekend when the WolfPack wrap up the home portion of their 2025-26 Canada West schedule against the UFV Cascades and UBC Thunderbirds.

Taking on the Cascades at 7:30 p.m. in a rare Thursday night game, the WolfPack will then play UBC at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday.

Compiling one of the best seasons in the program's Canada West history so far, the WolfPack will look to keep things rolling as they chase the possibility of hosting a playoff game at home for the first time since 2015-16. The WolfPack are currently third in the Pacific Division and need to catch either second-place UBC or first-place UVic to host a Canada West Quarter-final.

Prior to the game on Saturday the WolfPack will recognize graduating student-athletes Thomas Olsen and Gavin Reis.

Olsen, a product of Surrey, B.C., has been with TRU since the 2021-22 season and has appeared in 77 regular season games during that span – the tenth-most in program history. A Chemical Biology major, Olsen is one of just 22 student-athletes in TRU history to be a U SPORTS Academic All-Canadian in all five of his years with the 'Pack.

Reis, originally from Squamish, B.C., also joined TRU in 2021. The physical forward has suited up in 54 games and off the court the Geography and Environmental Studies major is a two-time U SPORTS Academic All-Canadian.

TRU (10-4) started their second semester with back-to-back wins last weekend. The WolfPack were impressive in victories of 95-72 and 82-86 over the UBC Okanagan Heat. Steve Stinson was named the WolfPack Male Athlete of the Week for his 37 points and nine assists over the two games.

UFV (7-6) is just one spot back of TRU in the Pacific Division standings. The Cascades were in tough last weekend but kept things close with the first-place UVic Vikes in losses of nine and ten points.

Like TRU, the Thunderbirds (10-2) started their second semester with a sweep. The T-Birds were dominant at home in wins of 85-56 and 91-66 over the TWU Spartans.

The 'Pack have faced both of these teams twice already this season with opposite results. UFV came out on top twice in a row over TRU in late November as the Cascades won 72-66 and 72-68. The WolfPack set a little program history in their first games of the season against UBC back in October. Securing wins of 85-74 and 73-68, TRU swept the Thunderbirds in Vancouver for the first time in program history.

86.4: UBC is second in the conference in scoring with 86.4 points-per-game.

68.2: TRU boasts the best defence in the conference, allowing just 68.2 points-per-game.
