The Bisons men's hockey team added a veteran presence to their blue line today, announcing the commitment of WHL standout Samuel Borschowa.

Borschowa, a 5'11", 195-pound McTaggart, SK native suited up in 116 games for the Kamloops Blazers between 2023-25, tallying 15 points. He also has experience with the Moose Jaw Warriors in the WHL, and played in the SJHL with the Notre Dame Hounds.

A physical presence on the blue line, the 20-year-old Borschowa -- an honour roll student in grades 10-12 -- had 80 penalty minutes with the Blazers, and was relied upon as a shut-down defender and a catalyst for shifting momentum. He had a career-high ten points in 2024-25.

"I had the opportunity to coach Sam a couple of years ago with Moose Jaw. He is a big, strong right-handed defenceman who brings a steady presence on the back end and isn't afraid to jump up into the play when needed," said Bisons head coach Gordon Burnett.

"I'm excited to see how much he's grown since our time together, and the impact he'll make this season."
