Victoria, B.C. – The University of Victoria men's soccer team take down the University of Alberta 1-0, Sep. 14 at Centennial Stadium.

Vikes strike first, Keshavarz's first of the season

  • As play picked up in the 14th minute, Takin Keshavarz was on the receiving end of a through ball by Ole Cameron, burying his first goal of the season as he put the Vikes ahead 1-0.

Vikes stand tall defensively to hold lead

  • Callum Weir hled his ground, saving several Golden Bear scoring opportunities, earning his first shutout of the season.

 
Notables

  • In the first minute of extra time first-year Jacob Thomas subbed in for the Vikes to make his Canada West debut
  • With the win, the Vikes remain undefeated as they move to 5-0-2 on the season, while the Golden Bears fall to 2-3-2.

 
The Vikes will return to action on the road against the University of Lethbridge Pronghorns on Sep. 20 at 4:15p.m.
