Three Brock wrestling incoming recruits showcased their potential with standout performances at the 2025 Canada Summer Games.

Austin Brabant and Aiden O'Neill claimed a team gold medal with the Team Ontario men's team, while on the women's side, Emma Chartres and Team Ontario placed second.

"We're excited to see the success these three outstanding athletes had at the Games," said Brock wrestling associate coach Dave Collie. "Their dedication, grit and results speak volumes. Their future is bright, and we look forward to having them as part of our Badgers family."

The team competition took place over three days, starting Wednesday, Aug. 20 to Friday, Aug. 22 and wrapped up with individual medal matches Saturday, Aug. 23 in St. John's, N.L.

O'Neill showed command of the mats from start to finish by going 5-0 in his matches during the team competition. He then won his semifinal match in the 60-kilogram division over Cash Friend of Team Alberta by grand superiority 4-0, while his finals contest was won by technical superiority 4-1 over Markus Lee of Team British Columbia.

Brabant also helped the men's team secure gold, finishing 5-0 in the team competition. These results advanced him to the 77kg individual medal matches, where he placed fourth after two consecutive losses.

On the women's side, Chartres helped Team Ontario win silver, and she earned an individual silver medal in the 50kg division. She won her semifinal match over Liz Chapman of Team Saskatchewan by points 3-1 before falling to Gurleen Dhillon of Team British Columbia by fall.

All three medallists are looking to bring their Canada Games experience over to a Brock Badgers wrestling program with a rich history, winning 22 national championships on the men's side and 12 on the women's side.
