HALIFAX, Nova Scotia — The Dalhousie Tigers defeated the Acadia Axewomen 1-0 on Friday at Wickwire Field.

The first half featured Dalhousie applying early offensive pressure, highlighted by Paris Axam's shot at 10:14, which was saved by Acadia's Milena Ramirez. The Tigers maintained their attacking momentum with two corner kicks by Axam and another by Arianna Rushenas at the end of the half. Despite a series of fouls from both teams and a yellow card issued to Maeve McCloskey, the half concluded scoreless.

The second half commenced with Dalhousie pressing forward, as Rushenas delivered a precise corner kick in the 51st minute. The Tigers' persistence paid off in the 68th minute when Rushenas converted a goal with an assist from Axam, marking her second goal of the season and securing a 1-0 lead. Despite the Axemen's attempts to even the score with a corner kick in stoppage time, Dalhousie's defense held firm, maintaining their narrow advantage through to the final whistle.

Rushenas scored the game-winning goal for Dalhousie, converting one of her two shots on target. Axam contributed with an assist and managed to register one shot on goal. In goal, Emily Toth recorded a shutout, playing the full 90 minutes without facing any shots on goal.

The Axewomen return home on Sunday when they host Mount Allison. The Tigers have the rest of the weekend off and return on Friday when they travel to Sackville, New Brunswick to face Mount Allison.
