Hailing from Sydney River, Nova Scotia, the 6’1 defenseman played for the Pictou County Jr ‘A’ Crushers in the Maritime Junior Hockey League (MHL) from 2023-25. Throughout his two years with the Crushers, Pattengale recorded 87 points and was selected for the 2023-24 Team MHL South at Eastern Canada Cup Jr ‘A’.

“I’m excited and eager to join a young team with a competitive atmosphere.” Says Pattengale. “I believe that this team has lots of potential and I am extremely excited to be a part of it.”

A three-time honours student, Pattengale will study science at Dalhousie.

“Preston is a hard-working individual, and an excellent student who has a team first mentality that makes him a great person in the dressing room.” says Donnelly. “He plays calm under pressure and makes good decisions, allowing him to be very effective in keeping opponents off the game sheet."

The Tigers open their 2025-26 season at UNB on October 3.
