The York University Lions women's hockey team returns to the ice this week to open the winter term with a pair of back-to-back games. The Lions will defend their home ice on Friday night before traveling for a Saturday afternoon showdown.
First, the Lions host the Brock Badgers Friday night at Canlan Ice Sports York, with puck drop scheduled for 7:00 pm. Having dropped a 4-1 decision to the Badgers earlier this season, York will be looking to avenge that loss and start the new year in the win column.
On Saturday, the Lions travel West to take on the Laurier Golden Hawks at 6:00 pm. This marks the first meeting between the two teams this season. As the Golden Hawks have been a leading program in the OUA so far, securing a road win would be a crucial boost for the Lions.
