With great energy and passion, Mark Colvin joins the Bisons women's soccer program as head coach for the 2025 season.
With over ten years of experience in elite female soccer, including at a senior professional level, Colvin is well-positioned to lead the soccer program forward and build on the strong foundation already in place.
From 2014-22, Colvin coached competitive youth soccer at North York Cosmos SC and Toronto High Park FC, holding leadership positions in both clubs. His players have gone on to compete at the collegiate level in USPORTS, NCAA (D1, D2 & D3), and CCAA. In addition, from 2019-22 Colvin served as Head Coach, Men's Soccer at Lakehead University Orillia, which competes in the OCAA. He led the program through a period of great growth while carefully navigating the COVID-19 pandemic.
Colvin now returns to Canada after three years coaching abroad in Sweden. From 2022-23, he worked in IF Brommapojkarna's renowned academy, developing some of the top players in the country, while competing against Europe's biggest clubs such as AS Roma, FC Barcelona, and Atlético Madrid. He most recently served as head coach and academy director for Eskilstuna United in Sweden's Elittetan professional league. During this time, Colvin worked with players consistently represented in both district and national team programs.
"I am grateful for the opportunity to join the Bisons program and lead this group moving forward. The team has incredible spirit and potential. Throughout this process, what stood out most was the alignment between myself and administration. We have a clear, shared vision for the program and the priorities we're focused on moving forward," he said.
"I'm also thrilled to join the Manitoba soccer community and help grow the game across the region. It's an incredible privilege to have this platform to inspire and ignite — and I'm energized to meet, work closely with, and contribute to this community. Ultimately, I'm focused on creating an environment for our student-athletes to grow, perform and excel. I look forward to the challenges ahead and am excited to get started."
Colvin is originally from Toronto, Ontario. He completed his graduate studies in sports psychology at Staffordshire University and holds a UEFA A license from the Scottish FA.
