North Bay, ON – Nipissing Lakers women's volleyball is proud and excited to announce the signing of Outside Hitter Beatrice Pengelly for the 2026 season and beyond.

Pengelly, hailing from Oakville, Ontario, is excited to elevate her game to the next level in OUA competition with the Lakers. Pengelly was previously part of Halton Region Volleyball Club and played for Oakville Trafalgar High School.

When asked to describe her style of play, Pengelly described herself as aggressive, hardworking, and energetic.

"I expect myself to make a positive contribution to the team and continue to develop my skills, learning from teammates and coaches" Beatrice said when asked what expectations she had for herself and the team.

"We are excited to welcome Bea to the Lakers family," said head coach Marc LaRochelle. Bea's impressive volleyball resume speaks for itself; however, more importantly, she brings strong leadership skills that will inevitably have a positive impact on our program. Bea is a fierce competitor that will relentlessly work hard to achieve her goals."

Beatrice was part of Team Canada U17 in 2023 and Team Ontario from 2023-2025. Pengelly won silver at the Canada Cup in 2025, gold at OFSAA in 2024 and bronze in 2025, silver at club provincials in 2025, and a bronze medal at nationals in 2024.

Pengelly will be enrolling in either Nursing or BPHE next fall at Nipissing.

"I chose Nipissing because of the welcoming team culture and coaching staff. Nipissing is a place where I see myself growing as both an athlete and person over the next few years."
