Tayshaun Thomas, from Montréal, Québec, will be joining the CBU CAPERS Men's Basketball Program this fall. This 6'4" guard played for Champlain Collège Saint-Lambert where he earned RSEQ 1st Team All-Star, Team MVP & Team Leadership Award. While at CBU, Tayshaun will pursue a Bachelor of Arts in Community Studies and a Bachelor of Business Administration.

Tayshaun sees himself bringing energy, toughness, and a team-first mindset on the court, whether that is defending, creating for others, or doing whatever it takes to win. Off the court, he shared that he wants to be a positive presence, build strong bonds with his teammates, and represent CBU with pride in the community and on campus.

"From the beginning, Coach Matt and the coaching staff showed my family and me nothing but love and support. It wasn't just about basketball; they took the time to build a real connection with us," replied Tayshaun when asked why he chose to attend CBU. "When I went on my visit, that love was even more real. Everyone from the coaches to the players welcomed me like I was already part of the team. The way they treated me made CBU feel like home. I knew right then that this was where I belonged."

Head Coach Matt Skinn reports that Tayshaun was the CAPERS top recruit for the 2025-26 season. "His defensive prowess, shooting ability, character and work ethic will be a cornerstone for our program for years to come."

Tayshaun expresses his gratitude for the opportunity and is ready to get to work. "I can't wait to be a part of the CBU family and give everything I've got on and off the court. Let's get it. #GoCAPERS."

CAPERS Basketball will be back in action at the Sullivan Fieldhouse on October 31. To view the full schedule, click here.
