Men's basketball announce commitment of 6'8

The Bisons men's basketball team added another enormous piece to their 2025 recruiting class, announcing the commitment of 6'8", 198 pound wing Felipe Díaz out of Madrid, Spain. 

 Díaz has experience on the Spanish U16 and U18 national teams, and most recently played for Lennoxville Prep in Quebec, where he was a Power5 AAA First Team All-Conference selection. 

A sharp-shooting lefty with exceptional size, Díaz has been a standout in Canada and in Spain. During the 2024-25 prep season in Quebec, he scored 36 points on multiple occasions, including against five-time national prep champions Putnam Academy from the USA. He also racked up 23 points and 12 rebounds in his final LBPQ game, helping his team win an LBPQ title. 

Díaz suited up for his country during the U16 Eurobasket in 2022 (second-place finish), as well as the U18 Eurobasket in 2024, and he also played for Movistar Estudiantes -- a Spanish first division development program -- from 2018 to 2024. He also represented his state team, Madrid in 2018, 2020 and 2022, where he was a Spanish champion in 2018 and 2022.

At the U18 Eurobasket, Díaz stood out amongst the best in the world. He was the best player in Spain in points per possession, and third in field goal percentage. 

"We are very excited to add Felipe to the Bison Family! He is a special talent and should fit right in with our group," said Bisons head coach Kirby Schepp. "We think Felipe can fill many roles within the offense as he is a true position-less player."
