OTTAWA, Ont. – The Ontario Tech women's basketball team opened the 2026 calendar year with an 80–51 setback against Ottawa on Friday, January 9 at Montpetit Hall.
The Gee-Gees established control early, opening the game with a 21–11 first quarter and extending the lead to 39–30 by halftime. Ottawa continued to build separation after the break, outscoring the Ridgebacks 19–10 in the third quarter and 22–11 in the fourth to secure the win.
Adra Barnet and Elliot Cowan led Ontario Tech offensively with 10 points apiece, while Brianna Morrison added nine points. Kaleah Gosse and Rosheen Antonroy each chipped in six points for the Ridgebacks.
The Ridgebacks will wrap up the Ottawa road trip tomorrow with a game against the Carleton Ravens at 6 p.m.
A hot start and a double-digit lead evaporated into a late-game drought as the Winnipeg Wesmen struggled to find their rhythm during a cold fourth quarter against the Brandon Bobcats on Friday.
