The Acadia Axemen football program has added depth and familiarity on the defensive side with the commitments of brothers Braden and Leyton Beazley, both products of Bayview High School in Tantallon, N.S.
The Beazleys follow a well-established tradition of siblings suiting up together in Wolfville, bringing complementary skill sets and a shared football background to the Axemen roster.
Braden Beazley, a 6'1, 220-pound linebacker, returns to Nova Scotia after competing in the Atlantic University Sport conference with Mount Allison University from 2023 to 2025. Prior to his university career, he was a standout at Bayview High School, where he served as a team captain, earned all-star recognition, and was named team defensive MVP.
Braden said continuing his university career at Acadia offers both a strong football environment and the opportunity to keep playing alongside his brother.
“It means a lot to continue playing at this level and to do it at Acadia,” he said. “Being able to share that experience with my brother is something we’ve always worked toward.”
Leyton Beazley, a 6'0 defensive back and outside linebacker, joins the Axemen following a strong high school career at Bayview. He helped lead the school to the SSNS championship during the 2024–25 season and earned multiple individual honours, including Defensive MVP, Division 1 all-star, and SSNS all-star recognition.
Leyton’s versatility allowed him to contribute in several defensive roles, combining physicality with strong coverage instincts. His development mirrors the foundation laid by his older brother, shaped through the same high school program and coaching environment.
Together, the Beazleys add experience, competitiveness, and positional flexibility to the Axemen defence. Braden’s U SPORTS background provides maturity and leadership at linebacker, while Leyton brings youth and adaptability to the secondary and edge positions.
